How to Wear Red and Pink Together

Your mother probably always told you not to wear clashing colours. Traditionally, it has been against the fashion grain to wear red and pink, green and blue, or brown and black in the same outfit. However, as fashion trends change, more and more people are wearing colours side by side that no one would have dared to wear just a few years earlier. In this article, we will discuss how to wear red and pink together without looking like a fashion disaster.

HOW TO WEAR RED AND PINK TOGETHER

Tie the clashing colours together with a dark, neutral tone. Black pants and a black jacket can bring even red and pink into harmony. The dark colour causes the eye to focus more on the vibrancy of the colours than on their relationship to each other.
Wear solid chunks of the conflicting colours.Do not attempt to combine red and pink in a print. Red and pink prints will always clash, no matter how badly we hope that they will not do so. Instead of a print, wear a bright red shirt with a pink scarf, or a pink shirt with a red jacket (if you choose to do the latter, make sure that you wear dark pants). This causes the eye to process the colours individually instead of in a group.
Bring everything together with chunky jewellery. Large, solid pieces of jewellery will help bring red and pink together. Choose square, gold earrings and a large gold bangle, for example, to stay in keeping with the solid blocks of colour.
Stay bright. Pastels tend to pick up tones from brighter colours. Because red is a very bold hue, you will need to select an equally bold pink in order for this look to work.
